Frequently asked questions

Does the pitch change with the speed?

Yes — honestly, it does. Like speeding up a tape, faster means higher-pitched and slower means lower-pitched. This tool changes tempo naturally; it does not do pitch-preserved time-stretching.

What speeds are supported?

Anything from 0.5x (half speed) to 2x (double speed), in 0.05 steps. 1x is the original speed.

Will this reduce audio quality?

The result is re-encoded as a 192 kbps MP3, which sounds great for voice and music. It is not lossless — for archive masters keep the original.

Does my audio leave my device?

Never. Speed changing runs entirely on your device using a WebAssembly build of FFmpeg, loaded unmodified from a CDN. Your file is never uploaded to any server.

Is it really free? Any watermark?

Yes — 100% free with no signup and no watermark, and no limit on how many files you process (files up to 500 MB are supported).

Which formats can I upload?

MP3, WAV, M4A, OGG, FLAC and most common audio formats work. The result always downloads as MP3, which plays everywhere.
