MP3, WAV, M4A, MP4, WebM, MOV. Stays on your device — nothing is uploaded.
Higher removes more noise but can make voices sound watery. 12–15 dB is a safe starting point.
WAV is 16-bit PCM — the highest-quality export. Video export re-encodes audio to AAC and copies the video stream untouched (ffmpeg engine downloads once, ~30 MB, from a CDN).
How to use the noise reduction tool
- Upload your fileDrop in audio or video. For video, the audio track is extracted automatically. Nothing leaves your device.
- Capture noise, set strengthPress “Capture noise profile” (uses the first 0.5 s — best with a moment of room tone), choose a strength, then press “Reduce noise”.
- Compare and exportToggle Before/After to hear the difference, then download the cleaned WAV — or the full video with cleaned audio (MP4).

Frequently asked questions
What kind of noise can this fix — and what can’t it fix?
It works best on steady background noise: hiss, hum, fan or air-conditioning drone, and room tone. It cannot fix clipped/distorted audio, heavy echo or reverb, wind blasts, or other people talking over you — no noise reduction tool can recover audio that was never captured cleanly.
Is this AI noise removal?
No — and we won’t pretend it is. This tool uses classic spectral noise reduction: it learns what your background noise sounds like from a short sample, then turns down just those frequencies. It runs entirely in your browser with code written for this site, no AI model download needed.
Why do I need to capture a noise profile?
The tool needs to hear your noise alone to know what to remove. Press “Capture noise profile” and it analyzes the first 0.5 seconds of your audio — so recordings that start with a moment of room tone (no talking) give the cleanest result.
What do I get when I export?
A 16-bit WAV of the cleaned audio — the highest-quality, most compatible format. If you uploaded a video, you can also export the video with the cleaned audio muxed in: the video stream is copied untouched (no re-encoding, no quality loss) and only the audio is replaced.
