Frequently asked questions

What format does the burned video download as?

WebM (VP9 video + Opus audio). That is the format browsers can record in real time — the download works everywhere modern browsers do, and the file plays in Chrome, Edge, Firefox and VLC. If you need MP4, convert the WebM with any free converter afterwards.

How are the captions styled?

White bold text with a black outline, centered near the bottom — the classic readable subtitle look. You can pick small, medium or large size. Custom fonts and colors are not available in this version.

How does the subtitle timing work?

Straight from your .srt file: each cue shows from its start time to its end time. If the timing is off, fix it in the SRT (our SRT Subtitle Generator has a timing editor) and re-upload.

Do the subtitles stay when I share the video?

Yes — that is the point of burning. The text becomes part of the picture itself, so it shows on every player, platform and device with no subtitle file needed.

Does my video leave my device?

Never. Everything — SRT parsing, caption drawing and recording — happens 100 % in your browser. Your files are never uploaded to any server.

Is it really free? Any watermark?

Yes — 100% free with no signup and no watermark (files up to 500 MB are supported). Preview the captions live, then burn and export.
